Donner Summit/Serene Lakes

Known as “The Summit”, this community is centered around Serene Lakes; a special area with its own Lakes nestled among the trees. Close to Sugar Bowl, renowned Royal Gorge Cross Country facilities, Donner Ski Ranch and Boreal just a short drive away, this year round community offers a feeling of serenity, privacy and nature for the ski enthusiast with an old time feeling.

Castle Peak and Rainbow Bridge areas of Donner Summit provide a retreat for residents with beauty matched equally by its surroundings. Taking Old Highway 40 offers picturesque vantage points and views of Donner Lake and the Town of Truckee. In summer, these areas are worth exploring by hiking, biking, or if you’re a risk taker, rock climbing. The area is also close to some of the best downhill and Nordic ski areas in the area including Donner Ski Ranch, Soda Springs, Sugar Bowl, and North America’s largest cross-country ski area, Royal Gorge.
